Truck Service Technician

Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Truck Service Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnosing, servicing, and repairing a variety of commercial vehicles, including semi-trucks, box trucks, and delivery vans. This position is critical in ensuring the safety, performance, and reliability of our fleet and customer vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in trucks and heavy-duty vehicles using specialized equipment and tools.

Perform preventative maintenance on engines, transmissions, brake systems, electrical systems, and suspension components.

Repair or replace worn or defective parts such as engines, filters, belts, hoses, and exhaust systems.

Test drive vehicles to verify repairs and ensure optimal performance.

Conduct inspections and adhere to safety protocols to ensure all trucks meet state and federal regulations.

Keep detailed records of maintenance and repair work performed, including parts and labor.

Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and costs clearly to clients when necessary.

Maintain a clean and organized work environment, and follow all company safety standards.

Skills and Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in diesel mechanics or truck repair preferred.

Minimum 2 years of experience working with commercial vehicles, trucks, or heavy-duty equipment.

Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.

Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.

Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.

Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred).

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment (up to 50 lbs).

Ability to work in various weather conditions and non-standard hours when required.

Working Conditions:

Full-time, with potential overtime.

Work performed in a shop or garage setting.

Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
