Marc Moncion is a seasoned transportation safety executive and recognized leader in North American fleet compliance, with over 30 years of experience spanning public and private sectors. Currently serving as Director of Fleet Compliance at Green For Life Environmental Inc. (GFL), Marc oversees regulatory adherence and risk mitigation strategies for one of the North America’s largest diversified environmental services fleets. Prior to joining GFL, Marc held senior leadership positions including Vice President of Safety Compliance & Regulatory Affairs at Fleet Complete, where he was instrumental in shaping global compliance frameworks and advocating for regulatory reform.
His earlier executive roles at Canada Cartage, Clean Harbors, and Safety-Kleen Systems, and Northbridge Insurance (Markel) solidified his reputation as a builder of robust safety cultures and strategic compliance systems in high-risk, asset-intensive operations.
Marc’s foundation in transportation enforcement was built during his 17-year tenure with the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, where he advanced through multiple positions, including Team Leader, and Carrier Safety Policy Administrator, National Safety Code Auditor, and Transportation Safety Enforcement Officer. Throughout his career, he has specialized in the development and delivery of industry-leading programs covering fleet safety, hazardous materials, hours of service, CVSA inspections, NSC audits, ELD policy, and environmental compliance. He is a current appointee to the U.S. FMCSA’s Motor Carrier Safety Advisory Committee (MCSAC), a longstanding advisor to Transport Canada’s ELD Technical Working Group, and a contributor to national driver training and workforce development initiatives.
A bilingual communicator, educator, and published author, Marc has created more than 300 safety blogs, eBooks, and webinar programs, and is a sought-after subject matter expert in regulatory compliance for both Canadian and U.S. jurisdictions. Marc holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Law & Political Science from Carleton University, a CITT designation in Transportation & Logistics, and multiple certifications including ISO 14001 EMS, CVSA Inspector, and TDG/Hazmat Instructor. He has received awards for academic excellence and industry contribution, including the Thomas J. McTague Memorial Award for top national performance in transportation logistics with CITT.
